BIO Richard Kattman
Richard Kattman is an award winning artist, landscape architect, and photographer. Residing in Holliston, MA in a lovely Greek revival home, he is an avid rare rose gardener and bird enthusiast. Rick also maintains a professional studio in the nearby “Mudville” Water Street Mill, with a local, regional, and international following of loyal art collectors and landscape commissions.
Richard, graduating with Honors from Rhode Island School of Design, and receiving a Certificate in Horticulture from Pennsylvania State University, his intensive educational efforts won him an Award for Excellence in Study from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
In 1988 Richard established the Kattman Corporation, landscape architects. His notable projects include Cambridge Center Roof Garden, Lookout Farm, Munroe Center for the Arts Sculpture Garden, Hopkinton Country Club, St. Joseph Cemetery, and high-end residential works. Early professional development experiences include award winning projects Shipyard Park, Boston, and Lechmere Canal and Park at Cambridgeside Galleria.
Over the years, Richard has remained committed to the Arts, specializing in painting, drawing, and photography, emphasizing abstraction. Richard is passionate about landscape architecture, as a career that blends his creativity with his artistic eye and an ability to enhance the beauty of most any setting.
A member of Providence Art Club, Richard lists and exhibits with Boston’s Gallery Twist, Saatchi Art, Los Angeles, Singulart Paris, de Cordova Museum Corporate Program, and Boston Arts and Business Council. Abstract paintings are shipped to California, Florida, Italy, Germany, and Spain.
Fruitlands Museum, Nantucket Island School of Design, Brush Creek Wyoming, "To the Garden", Paros Greece, and La Macina di San Cresci, Italy, all have honored Richard to participate in recent local and international Artist Residences awards. The residences greatly influence and affect Rick’s life in arts and architecture, in experiencing differing cultures and local/ regional/ global environments.
Richard is married to Barbara Kattman, a successful Chairman’s Circle Gold real estate agent and artist. Daughter Miah joined her mother as an award winning real estate team. Son, Matthew is a Trader Joe’s manager and photographer.
A love of family, world travel, classical literature/music, and gardening, provide life’s greatest pleasures.
